Marquez Blitzes The Lap Record In The Process

The relentless 26-year-old went 0.496 of a second faster than anyone else setting a new lap record and took pole by almost a huge half a second over second place man.
Marquez was in formidable form and not only did he set a new record for the most MotoGP poles but he also did the fastest ever lap around Red Bull Spielberg Ring circuit, as he went quicker than Andrea Iannone's previous record lap of 2016.

Maverick Vinales the Monster Energy Yamaha man led at first
and Rossi, Crutchlow and Quartararo swapped second place and cut Vinales' advantage.

The number 93 Repsol Honda took the Austrian "Bull' by the horns.

Soon Marquez was back at the top. Then Dovizioso ramped up his pace to go up to second behind Vinales.

Marquez responded immediately he blitzed round. It was a lap to behold, he even had a front end slide as he set the new lap record just shows how hard he was pushing his Repsol Honda RCV213. The fastest ever lap around Spielberg circuit, with a time of 1 minute 23.027 seconds and took pole by a huge 0.434 of a second over second place man.
Dovizioso improved his time to go faster than Vinales.

Then Quartararo leapt on to the front row with his final lap to push Dovizioso down to third and the MotoGP rookie forced Maverick Vinales off the front row.

Quartararo is Marquez' nearest rival.

Bagnaia stunned taking fifth with Nakagami in sixth ahead of Alex Rins on the lone Ecstar Suzuki.

Bagnaia and Crutchlow coming through Q1, the Brit will start from ninth and Bagnaia's Pramac Ducati team-mate Jack Miller who'll line up on the third row. Miller could only manage eighth place.

Valentino Rossi surged up to fourth early in Q2 before being demoted by quicker riders, he finished in tenth place  at the MotoGP Red Bull Spielberg Ring in Austria.

Which Is Correct? Practise Or Practice?

Some of you have written to me asking why
I put practise and not practice.

Well it's because I am English!
Here's a short English lesson!
In English, that is the Queen's English as spoken in the British Isles,
PractiCe is the noun
and PractiSe is the verb.

e.g. It is correct to say that
"The riders went out in Free Practise Three
to do their best lap time to get into Q2."
It is practiSe, with an 'S', the verb,
What is a verb?
It is a word that expresses an action.

It is a word describing an action, doing something, such as 'to sing' or 'ride a motorbike'.
But practiCe, with a 'C' is a noun.
A noun is a word such as 'car', 'love', or 'Valentino' which is used to refer to a person or an item.
Now you know!

 Mir To Miss Silverstone
Joan Mir Was Taken To Hospital After 190mph
Crash In The Brno MotoGP Test
Mir Was Air-lifted To Hospital
After His 190mph (300kmh-ph) Test
Joan Mir Survived A 190mph Crash!
Joan Mir has been advised not to take part in the Silverstone weekend after he crashed his Ecstar Suzuki at almost 190mph(300kmh), smashing into the air-fence. He fell heavily going into Turn 1 with less than an hour of the session to go.

He is back in his Spanish home after he was in hospital overnight after his high-speed test crash during the post-Brno test in the Czech Republic.

The 2017 Moto3 champion was first taken to the Clinica Mobile and evaluated by circuit doctors, who diagnosed him with a pulmonary contusion, before being transferred by helicopter to Brno University Hospital for further examination.

There it was confirmed that Mir had escaped serious injury, but he is set to remain under observation for a further 24 to 48 hours before heading to Austria to try and take part in this weekend's Red Bull Ring race.

Despite his crash, Mir ended the Brno test seventh fastest.
 In Hospital Mir Said

"I am sorry I cannot be in England and racing this weekend at Silverstone, I really like the circuit.

"The Brno crash was a scary one, but finally it looks like everything is more or less OK,"

"I had some pain and struggled to breathe initially, but then the situation got better and better and I received excellent assistance and support from the medics at the track.

"It will take a couple of days to recover, I need to take it easy and take my time, but at the moment I feel relieved that everything is OK, and I hope I will be 100 percent ready to race in Austria in just a few days."

He missed the Austrian race and will miss Silverstone but aims to be back in action at the next MotoGP race weekend, the San Marino GP near Rimini in Italy starting 13th September with Free Practise.

Jorge Lorenzo Is Back
For The Silverstone MotoGP Race Weekend

Lorenzo has decided to take part in the Grand Prix this weekend. He is looking forward to climbing back on his Repsol Honda and getting back up to speed.

He took the advice of his Doctor Matthew Schlechtleitner, and pulled out of the Brno and the Austrian GP. But now he's back!

Lorenzo is pleased to be back in action at Silverstone.

He's been back training and is recovering from his Assen crash, it was decided to let the recovery process continue and rather than risk further injury so he did not take part in both the Brno and the Austrian GP. He is going to be back in action at Silverstone in the British GP this weekend.

Jorge Lorenzo
in back training
even though he
didn't take part in four MotoGP races.

Stefan Bradl took his place
at both Brno and the Austrian GP.

Lorenzo had a spinal injury in an incident in the free practise session at the Dutch MotoGP. The Factory Repsol Honda rider is targeting his return at the British GP, but after a Doctor's asscessment he was advised although he's not fully fit, he was fit enough to take part this weekend.
